SFU - Dutch Design 2013
DutchDesign is an undergraduate field school and research program I was fortunate to be a part of during the Summer of 2013. As a part of the program, a team of thirteen students (including myself) travelled to the Netherlands where we interviewed twenty renowned designers, including product designers Ineke Hans and Pete Hein Eek, graphic designer Peter Bil'ak, and urban architectural firm ZUS.
Upon our return from the Netherlands we were tasked with editing all the video footage from interviews and to create a website to showcase the field school.
Roles: Lead Branding Creative, Researcher, Camera Operator, Video Editor
The line that distinguishes art and design is blurred in Dutch culture. The logo follows the concept of rigid briefs vs. handcrafted process. The rigidity references the designers' context as well as their principles and ethos. The handcrafted aspect was incorporated to represent the distinct personalities of each of the designers we interviewed.
